The Artist Statement I have chosen the most amazing career path: the creation of art in multiple mediums. My formal studies have taken me all over the globe…from North America to Europe and points beyond. Attending the Marchutz School of Fine Arts in Aix en Provence, France was certainly instrumental in legitimizing and solidifying my place in the art industry. My most enjoyable artistic experience was attending The Arts Students League in NYC where I learned to combine my cubistic style with art from cultures from all over the world.
My love for & use of modern art in general and analytical as well as synthetic cubism in particular, so prevalent in my present body of work, is influenced mainly by , Frida, Basquiat and of course “Mr. Cubism” himself, Pablo Picasso. Combining this cubistic approach with a fascination of fashion and style has led me to paint on accessories, clothes, bags, furniture, etc. These pages allow me to share some of my fun, vibrantly colorful and trend-setting paintings with you.
Residing in Baltimore and treating it as my base of operations has afforded me the opportunity to expand my idea pool often without leaving the city…hence this online offering. However, I can and do avail myself of the many opportunities to display my work at local, regional, national and international shows. I also have created private commissioned works from The Gailery by liag (yes that’s me too!) for patrons from all over the world.
Enjoy the site…and remember once an item at the Gailery is marked sold, it's found a new home as all pieces are one of a kind. Thank You
